Step #4: Spindles, Newel Posts & Handrail

A wide variety of newel posts and spindles is available. The newel posts are positioned at the bottom and top of a stair flight. The spindles (balusters) are the vertical posts that hold up the handrail along the flight. The photographs below show a selection of these. It is also possible to have glass panels instead of spindles as can be seen in some of the stairs photographs.
